Ian Coltrin, PE, currently serves as a Product Line Manager - Flotation and Engineering Project Manager - R&D at FLSmidth since July 2018, overseeing the development of new products through a structured stage/gate process while managing cross-functional teams. Previously, Ian held positions at Emerson from December 2014 to July 2018, where responsibilities included leading new product development as a Design Engineer III and supervising project teams as an Interim Project Manager. Ian also worked as a Project Engineer at Control Components Inc. from February 2012 to November 2014, focusing on custom engineered products for fossil power systems. Earlier in career, Ian served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps from July 2001 to June 2005, earning two Naval Achievement Medals and a Combat Action Ribbon during deployment for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ian holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Chico.
