CEO at Fluence Analytics

Jay Manouchehri is the Chief Executive Officer of Fluence Analytics, a technology startup that provides real-time analytics solutions for the optimization of manufacturing and R&D processes. He has more than three decades of global experience in the chemicals and oil and gas sectors. Throughout his career, Jay has led a number of mergers, acquisitions, post-merger integrations, technology roll-up and carve-outs for corporate and private equity groups, led technology development and commercialization efforts with startups, and reorganized corporate business units and subsidiaries.

Most recently Jay spearheaded a technology commercialization effort and developed the go-to-market strategy and roll-out of digital transformation SaaS business within the energy sector. During his career, Jay has been called in several times to restructure corporate business units. His leadership often led to new profitability, realignment with corporate missions, culture reboots, and new market penetration strategies.

Jay started his career as a process engineer and quickly transitioned to delivering novel technology solutions to the process industries for advanced process control, analytics and digital transformation. He has worked as an executive at several leading automation companies such as Honeywell advanced solutions in North America, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Specifically, Jay was the CEO for Matrikon’s MENA operations during the company’s acquisition by Honeywell and led the company during the merger and post-merger integration. Additionally, he was CEO and board director for ABB Automation MENA, an ABB Inc. subsidiary, following a merger and a restructuring of the business. In this role he helped the company achieve rapid, sustainable revenue growth while rolling out its digital automation, instrumentation, analytics, and advanced process control and optimization software solutions and services. In addition to his technology and ‘hands-on’ operational experience, Jay was previously a management consulting partner and executive in CRA International corporate advisory and consulting practice, an M&A advisor and operating partner within the private equity industry.

Jay holds multiple engineering degrees from Tulane University, including a BS in Chemical Engineering, MS in Mechanical Engineering specializing in control systems and robotics, and PhD (ABD) in Chemical Engineering where his studies focused on neural networks applied in machine learning and process control and optimization modeling; and an MBA in corporate finance and operations research from Loyola University.
