Dan is Director, Youth Development & Education at Fluent, providing a strong background in both research and youth development practice. His interest and experience revolve around the development and enhancement of contextually relevant, economically responsible, and developmentally sound in-school and out-of-school educational programs.
Dan’s professional experience stems from his research work at the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development at Tufts University where he managed several large-scale projects. Prior to that, his practice expertise was developed as an elementary school teacher in the public schools of the Boston area. Most recently, he was able to use the full spectrum of his talents as Human Development Research Specialist for the National Service Center of the Boy Scouts of America.
Alongside his wife Amy Warren, Dan co-founded Home Base Learning Center. Home Base is a nature-based elementary school guided by the core values of Positive Youth Development, Social Justice, and Earth Stewardship.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Northeastern University and a Ph.D. in human development and child study from Tufts University.
