Mary Meyn

Director, Research at Fluent Research

Mary is Director, Research at Fluent. Mary specializes in executing logistically challenging and methodologically complex research projects, providing businesses, government, and non-profits with the rich and substantive insights needed to achieve their goals.

Prior to working at Fluent, Mary was a Vice President at Edison Research. She has worked with major companies in media and policy, including AMC Theatres, The Brookings Institution, ESPN, NPR, Marketplace, and Univision, among many others.

One of Mary’s career highlights was directing the Marketplace-Edison Research Survey, a series of ten public polls that measured Americans’ feelings about their personal economy and economic anxiety. This study informed dozens of national radio pieces, illuminating previously unmeasured findings about personal finances, work, family, pay inequity, gig work, and government policy to name just a few topic areas.

In addition to her custom research experience at Edison Research, Mary spent 16 years supporting the national Election Day exit polls, providing critical and time-sensitive data about who Americans voted for and what issues were important to voters.

Mary has been an active member of the American Association of Public Opinion Researchers (AAPOR) community, serving for many years on the Executive Council of the Pennsylvania/New Jersey chapter, including serving as President in 2019. She currently serves as an Associate Membership Chair of the Executive Council for NYAAPOR (the New York Chapter of the American Association of Public Opinion Researchers).

Mary is a graduate of Binghamton University and has a Master’s degree in Politics and Public Affairs from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University.
