Olivia Rennie has held a variety of positions in the medical and research fields since 2015. Olivia began their career as a Teaching Assistant in Statistics at the University of Toronto, where they also held positions as a Communications Officer, WELL Facilitator, Centre for Teaching and Learning Junior Ambassador, Research Student in Neuroscience, Statistics Research Assistant, and MSLC Statistics Facilitator. In 2018, they began working as a Research Assistant in the Emergency Department at North York General Hospital, and as a Clinical Genome Resource (ClinGen) Biocurator at the National Institutes of Health. In 2021, they took on the role of Student Coach at Medcoach, and Student Director for the Scarborough Arts Project at Tarragon Theatre. In addition, they are the Director, Writer, & Producer of the Faculty of Medicine Annual Musical, and Assistant Director of the same musical, both at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.

Olivia Rennie graduated from Pickering High School in 2014 with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Olivia then attended the University of Toronto from 2014 to 2018, majoring in Neuroscience & Psychology. From 2019 to 2021, they studied Theatre, Literature, & Film at the same university. In 2021, they enrolled in a Certificate in Creative Writing program at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, specializing in Screenwriting. Olivia also obtained an Interprofessional Health, Arts, & Humanities Program certification from the University of Toronto in May 2022. In the same year, they enrolled in a Writing for Film & Television - Associate Diploma program at the Toronto Film School. Currently, they are pursuing a Combined MD-PhD at the University of Toronto.
