Russell Horton has a diverse work experience. Russell is currently the CEO of FluidOne, an award-winning provider of Connected Cloud solutions. In 2023, they became the Chairman of projectfive, a company that delivers managed IT services. Russell also holds the position of Chairman at Highlander Computing Solutions, Marathon Managed Services, Cyber Security Associates, and SAS Global Communications. In 2020, Russell Horton became the CEO of Fluidone and led the acquisition of PSU Business Technology Limited. Additionally, they are an investor in Vibe Tickets. In the past, they served as a Director at Support Span Limited and Nexus Telecommunications Ltd, both of which were acquired by Elitetele.com plc.

Russell Horton attended Bedford Modern School from 1982 to 1987, where they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. Later, from 1987 to 1990, they attended Kingston University, earning a BA Honours degree in Accounting and Finance.
