Paul Samuel, PhD has a long and impressive work experience. Paul began their career in 1996 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland Department of Aerospace, where they conducted doctoral research on signal processing for structural health monitoring. In 2003, they moved to the University of Maryland as a Research Associate/Assistant Research Scientist, where they investigated the use of active materials and flexible structures in rotary-wing MAV systems. In 2014, they joined Weatherford as an R&D Engineer IV, where they served as Project Manager and top tier R&D Engineer for projects related to optical sensing systems and related hardware for downhole condition monitoring. In 2015, they joined Draper as a Principal Member of Technical Staff, where they served as Technical Director, Task Leader and Senior Engineer for projects related to UAS and supporting technologies. Finally, in 2021, they joined Flyability as a Senior UAS Engineer and Project Manager.

Paul Samuel, PhD has a long history of education in the field of Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Paul earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Maryland in 1996, followed by a Master of Science (MS) in 1999 and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2003, both from the same university.
