Ariela Friedman

Director of Strategy, Education and Community Development at FMYI

Ariela Friedman has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ariela started their career as a Group Facilitator for the Youth Development Initiative at Georgia State University in 2004. From there, they worked as a Coordinator and Teacher at Peace Games from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, Ariela joined the Johns Hopkins University Center as an Office Manager and later became an Assistant Event Coordinator at Starting-Block.

In 2007, Ariela became a Career Advancement Coach and Supervisor for the Reintegration Team at The Door - A Center of Alternatives. Ariela then moved on to Graduate NYC in 2010, where they worked as a Producer & Senior Project Coordinator. Ariela'srole involved leading city-wide executive teams and developing the first data sharing project between CUNY and local Community-based organizations.

Ariela joined College Access: Research and Action (CARA) in 2013, starting as an Assistant Director and later becoming the Director of Right to College and Enroll NYC. During their time at CARA, they also served as the Director of Strategy, Education, and Community Development at Grouptrail. In 2017, Ariela started their own venture as a Career and Leadership Trainer and Coach at Ariela Friedman, Coach. Currently, they hold both positions as they continue to inspire individuals through their coaching and strategy development skills.

Ariela Friedman's education history includes a Master of Education degree in Risk and Prevention from Harvard Graduate School of Education, which they completed in 2007. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2006. From 1999 to 2003, Ariela attended Georgia State University Perimeter College, where they studied Psychology. In 2020, they pursued a Certified Professional Coach certification from iPEC Coaching, which they obtained in January 2021. In addition, Ariela has obtained several other certifications, including Energy Leadership Index - MP from iPEC Coaching in December 2020, and the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) certification from the International Coaching Federation in September 2021.
