Maya Garcia-Hector

Maya Garcia-Hector, also known as Procurement Princess, has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Maya began their career as a Retail/Social Media associate at BWH Plant Co., where they utilized their knowledge of tropical and indoor plants to create engaging visual content for the company's Instagram page. Maya's passion for customer satisfaction and positive experiences allowed their to excel in serving guests at the store.

Following their time at BWH Plant Co., Maya joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise as part of the WW Category Management Strategic Planning team. In this role, they supported the sale of HPE services globally by facilitating communication, creating collateral, and hosting educational events. Their contributions helped enhance the worldwide Pointnext team's effectiveness and also supported Geography-based teams in reaching their objectives.

Maya then gained experience in the nonprofit sector by joining March For Our Lives as a Social Media Coordinator. Working alongside the communications team, they managed the organization's Instagram and Twitter accounts, keeping members informed and motivated. Maya's ability to collaborate with content creators, writers, and the communications director allowed their to execute effective campaigns for the national following of activists.

Next, Maya took on the role of a Public Relations Assistant at the Florida Municipal Power Agency. Maya was responsible for creating, delivering, and managing multi-channel communications to both internal and external stakeholders. Maya excelled in publishing digital content and delivering highly-relevant messaging through social media platforms, resulting in positive engagement rates exceeding 85%.
