Senior Machine Learning Engineer at FocalPoint

Jacobo F has extensive work experience in the field of research and machine learning. Jacobo started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Tsukuba and later at The University of Tokyo, where they collaborated with team members on projects related to analyzing data from invasive recordings of the human brain and identifying the sense of agency. Jacobo performed various data analysis tasks and contributed to statistical differences identification under different conditions.

Afterwards, Jacobo joined the University of Essex as a Senior Research Officer, where they conducted a cross-disciplinary project on ethics in AI for Military, Medicine, and Law enforcement. Jacobo identified the major challenges in the field of ethical AI. Additionally, they worked on creating machine learning systems capable of detecting inner mental states in real time based on physiological signals.

Currently, Jacobo holds the position of a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at FocalPoint, where they apply their expertise in machine learning to contribute to the development of AI systems.

Jacobo F began their education journey in 2007 at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science. Jacobo completed this program in 2012. Following this, from 2012 to 2014, they attended the same university to obtain a Master of Education degree in Computer Science. Finally, Jacobo F pursued their highest level of education at Chiba University from 2014 to 2018, earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering.
