James Blackman has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. James began their career at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Guam, where they worked as a Tax Senior for six years. From there, they joined KPMG US as a Tax Senior, specializing in Personal Financial Planning. After a year, James moved to UnitedHealthGroup, where they served as a Senior Tax Specialist for five years. James then joined ShopKo Stores as a Manager, overseeing Tax and Fixed Assets for four years. James later became the Corporate Tax Manager at Banta Corporation for a year before transitioning to Wipfli LLP as a Tax Manager. James then established their own firm, More Than Numbers, where they acted as the Owner. Currently, they are working at Focus on the Family as the Exec Director / Controller.
James Blackman's education history begins in 1982 when they started studying Pre-business at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. James transferred to the Lubar College of Business in 1984 where they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, which they obtained in 1988. After completing their undergraduate studies, James enrolled at the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management in 1996. James pursued a Masters in Tax, but it is not specified if they obtained the degree or not. Outside of their formal education, James received additional certifications. In 1999, they became a Certified Public Accountant accredited by the State of Minnesota. Later, in 2017, they obtained the Not-for-Profit Certificate I from the AICPA.
