Tomas Hallberg

Tomas Hallberg is the Deputy Research Director at FOI, where they focus on the optical properties of materials, including spectroscopic characterization and light scattering. Since 1998, they have developed materials and systems for applications such as camouflage and laser protection. Tomas has also worked as a research assistant at Linköping University, investigating oxygen-related defects in silicon, and previously held engineering roles at Ericsson Telecom AB and PCO Inc., where they specialized in optical characterizations of semiconducting lasers. Tomas earned a PhD in Materials Science and a Docent in Applied Optics from Linköping University, alongside a BSc in Physics from both Linköping University and the University of Colorado Boulder.
