Jonathan Levine, PhD has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Jonathan is the co-founder and CEO of Folia Materials, a sustainable paper platform company that uses plant-based chemistry and nano-science to address global platforms. Folia Materials' patented coating technology transforms paper into an advanced material platform capable of replacing billions of plastic products. Additionally, they are the co-founder and Board Chair of Folia Water Global, which leverages grocery retail to provide clean drinking water in low-income countries.

Jonathan Levine is also a member of NEXUS Global, a judge at startup events and competitions at Columbia University in the City of New York, and a judge and mentor at Cleantech Open. Jonathan serves as an advisor at MIT Water Innovation Prize, Mentor Capital Network, and Nymphea Labs. Furthermore, they are a strategic advisor at Brio Photography and was the founder of Folia in 500 Startups Batch 21.

Jonathan Levine, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History and Mathematics from Columbia University in the years 2000 to 2004. Jonathan then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Earth and Environmental Engineering from Columbia University from 2004 to 2006. Lastly, Jonathan Levine continued their education at Columbia University, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Earth and Environmental Engineering between 2006 and 2010.
