Kenneth D. Singer

Kenneth D. Singer is the Founder, Executive Chair of the Board, and Chief Innovation Officer of Folio Photonics Inc. Dr. Singer is the Ambrose Swasey Professor of Physics and Professor of Macromolecular Science and Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. He spent eight years at Bell Laboratories as both a Member and Distinguished Member of Technical Staff before joining CWRU’s faculty. He is the Founding Director of the Engineering Physics degree program and Faculty Director of the Materials for Opto/electronic Research and Education Center (MORE). Singer is a leading expert in nonlinear optics, optical and electronic properties, and devices formed from organic materials with over 200 publications in these subject areas and several patents. Organizing a team of about 10 researchers, he helped realize the first demonstration and its progress towards commercialization.
