Eric Smit

Eric Smit has a diverse work experience starting in 1985 as a traveling squash professional. In 1998, they worked as a novice at Matchcare Datacompare before becoming a journalist at Quote Magazine in 1999. Eric stayed with the magazine until 2006 and also held the role of adjunct-hoofdredacteur from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, they joined De Pers as a journalist but the company went bankrupt in 2012. In 2008, Eric became an initiator at the Muckraker Foundation before co-founding Follow the Money in 2010, where they currently serve as a co-owner and co-editor in chief.

Eric Smit completed their education at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 1987 to 1997. Eric obtained a degree in Economics, specifically the degree of Doctorandus.
