Mike Murlin has worked in a variety of roles in the sales and business development field since 2004. In 2004, they began their career as an Account Specialist II-Advisor at Bank of America, where they managed outgoing cold calls and undertook upselling opportunities for existing clients. Mike also hired and mentored 4 new hires per cycle through one-on-one live call coaching and classroom based instruction, and won multiple company sales competitions by outselling peers and maximizing cold calls within allotted time.
In 2008, Mike moved to Amcat Adjusting Services, where they worked as a Business Development Specialist. In this role, they managed all outbound cold calls, devised strategies for client prospecting and engagement for both himself and their peers, and worked in a 5-member team with 2 sales agents and 3 educators.
In 2014, Mike took on a role as Business Development Manager at Vail Resorts. In this role, they formulated a robust strategy to turn around a loss-bearing organization by enhancing organizational competitiveness and curtailing loss. Mike was also responsible for training and coaching a team of 50 indirect reports, including operations managers and assistant managers, and managed all aspects of training (developing, performance reporting for business development, negotiation, and prospecting). Mike also monetized incentives for staff to boost their engagement.
In 2018, Mike became a Sales Consultant and Channel Development Manager at Real Geeks. In this role, they worked collaboratively with their referral base to generate leads, conduct virtual sales conversations, close deals, and further expand the referral network. Mike also trained and managed a nationwide network of indirect sales executives through frequent presentations and webinars, and was involved in the recruitment process, conducting interviews for 6+ employees and providing consultancy on the hiring process.
Most recently, in 2021, Mike joined Firepoint | An end-to-end solution RE Agents, Teams, & Brokers as a Senior Account Executive. In this role, they worked across departments to optimize and overhaul sales process, pilot new initiatives, develop marketing content, form partnerships, and communicate on behalf of leadership to the company as a whole. Mike'skey accomplishments were achieved with a lean team and a 90% reduction in marketing budget. Mike is currently employed at Follow Up Boss as the Director of Sales, a role they began in 2022.
