Revanth Poondla began their work experience in 2015 as a Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, where they investigated the effects of TILS (Transcranial Infrared Laser Stimulation) on prefrontal cortex and executive function for their honors thesis. Revanth also served as a Senior Peer Learning Assistant, teaching General Chemistry in a flipped classroom setting and training other Peer Learning Assistants.
In 2016, Revanth joined Texas 4000 for Cancer as a Rider and Grants Committee Member. Revanth participated in the longest charity bike ride in the world and helped allocate $300,000 in research grants. Revanth raised over $4,500 for cancer research and support services.
From 2017 to 2019, Revanth worked as an Instructor at The Princeton Review, teaching MCAT preparatory classes and specializing in Organic Chemistry, Biology, and General Chemistry.
In 2018, Revanth became a Data Analyst at Baylor College of Medicine, where they contributed to projects analyzing transplant outcomes using the UNOS database. Revanth played a notable role in researching a new pooled organ allocation scheme, which aimed to significantly increase patient and graft survival and expand the impact of donated organs.
Most recently, starting in 2019, Revanth joined Fondren Orthopedic Group as a Data Analyst. In this role, they developed machine learning models using Python to analyze and characterize implant failure in total shoulder arthroplasty. Revanth also wrote code in R to clean a shoulder arthroplasty database and identified critical differences in outcomes for different techniques used in the procedure.
Revanth Poondla completed their primary education at Heritage High School from 2010 to 2014. Afterward, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience at The University of Texas at Austin from 2014 to 2018, achieving an Honors distinction with a GPA of 3.95(4). Additionally, in October 2012, Revanth obtained certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. In April 2014, they received certification as a Certified EKG Technician from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Currently, Revanth is enrolled at Baylor College of Medicine, where they are working towards obtaining a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in the field of Medicine, expected to be completed in 2023.
