Danae Giakoumakis

Danae Giakoumakis currently serves as an FWO-FO PhD Aspirant at Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - Vlaanderen since November 2022. Prior to this role, Danae worked as an allround medewerker at Kumiko Izakaya/Restaurant from October 2018 to June 2022. Additionally, Danae participated as a member of the Inisol Trade Mission 2021, representing Group Machiels and conducting a market study of the Romanian waste management sector during an online mission due to COVID in September 2020 to June 2021. Danae's academic journey includes pursuing a Doctorandus degree in Bio-ingenieurswetenschappen at Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 2022 to 2026, a Master's degree in Bioengineering Sciences: Chemistry and Bioprocess Technology with a focus on Food Biotechnology from 2020 to 2022, and a Bachelor's degree in Bio-ingenieurswetenschappen: Cel- en genbiotechnologie from 2017 to 2020.
