Hannes Heylen is currently pursuing a PhD fellowship in fundamental research at Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - Vlaanderen and holds researcher and PhD student positions at KU Leuven and imec, respectively. Hannes has a background in medicine, serving as an MD at UZ Leuven, and has previously worked on various training and research projects, including a medicine traineeship at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a summer internship at KU Leuven's Laboratory for Neurofibromatosis Research. Hannes completed a Master of Biomedical Engineering and a Master of Medicine at KU Leuven, along with a Bachelor's degree in Medicine. Educational foundations include studies at Montfortcollege Rotselaar, AgroParisTech, and Warsaw University of Technology.
