Matthijs Degraeve is a guest lecturer in Urban History at Sciences Po for the academic year 2023-2024 and serves as a postdoctoral researcher at Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - Vlaanderen, focusing on the regulation of sanitary installers in London, Paris, and Brussels from 1850 to 1940. Additionally, Matthijs has been a lecturer in Urban History at Vrije Universiteit Brussel since March 2017, where involvement includes postdoctoral research in the project 'Rebuilding Brussels' and the organization of a symposium and exhibition titled 'Re/Building Brussels.' Prior research work includes a PhD on the historical construction sector in Brussels and contributions to workshops and conferences. Matthijs has also gained practical experience through an internship with Stad Brugge in monument care. Academic qualifications include a Doctor's Degree in History from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, a Master of Science in Monument and Landscape Care from the University of Antwerp, and a Master of Arts in History from Ghent University.
