Cassie James, CNP, currently serves as the Pop Up Markets Coordinator at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC, where responsibilities include utilizing existing data and GIS mapping software to identify service gaps and facilitate food distributions in underserved areas. Previously, Cassie completed over 1700 hours of service as a FEMA Corps Member with AmeriCorps NCCC, focusing on emergency management and leading professional development activities. Cassie has also held positions as a Graduate Assistant at the University Center for Academic Excellence at UNC Charlotte, where workshops on academic skills were facilitated, and as an Elections Intern with the Cabarrus County Board of Elections during the 2020 presidential election. Additional experience includes a Town Management Internship with the Town of Robbins, North Carolina. Cassie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Catawba College and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

In terms of total food distributed, the Food Bank ranks in the top 15 nationally among 200 Feeding America food banks and first in North Carolina. Their food distribution programs and child nutrition programs are based on national models.
