WIC Community Innovation And Outreach (ciao) Project Lead at Food Research & Action Center

Tommi-Grace Melito Alvaro is a seasoned professional in social work and public policy, currently serving as the WIC Community Innovation and Outreach (CIAO) Senior Technical Assistance Mentor at the Food Research & Action Center since January 2024. Previously, Tommi-Grace held multiple managerial roles at the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island, including Advocacy & Coalition Manager and Regional Economic Resiliency Programs Manager from August 2017 to December 2023. Prior experience includes the position of Prevention Education Program Manager at the Crime Victims Center from March 2016 to August 2017 and Bilingual Administrative Assistant at Wyandanch Union Free School District from September 2010 to June 2014. Tommi-Grace holds a Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo, a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Stony Brook University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in African-American/Black Studies from SUNY New Paltz.
