Yann Giret

Yann Giret began their career in 2011 as a Junior Consultant at Hopital Antoine Beclere. In 2013, they held the role of Junior Project Consultant at Restoflash, followed by Junior Project Manager at Withings. The following year, they worked as a Junior Business Developer at Withings. In 2015, Yann became a Research Intern at Inria and also Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer at Foodvisor. At Foodvisor, they leveraged their knowledge in Deep Learning and Computer Vision to develop state-of-the-art algorithms that can detect every food item on a plate, evaluate the quantity of the serving, and estimate its key nutritional values. At Inria, Yann worked on optimization of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) during training, resulting in a marked improvement in the speed of training. Yann also developed a new Region Proposal Network (cf Faster RCNN) using Efficient Window Search as a "bounding box selector".

Yann Giret completed their Bachelor of Science degree from Collège Stanislas in 2011. Yann then pursued a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree from CentraleSupélec in Applied Math, Statistics & Data Science from 2011 to 2015. In 2014, they also completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) MVA degree from ENS Cachan in Computer Vision and Machine Learning.
