Teacher - 8th-grade Humanities at FOOTE SCHOOL

Liz Warner is an experienced educator and historian with a diverse background in teaching middle school history and humanities, as well as preservation and research in historic contexts. Current roles include teaching 8th-grade Humanities at The Foote School since August 2022. Warner previously owned New Orleans House Histories from June 2013 to September 2021 and served as a middle school history teacher at both Louise S. McGehee School and Isidore Newman School. Warner's earlier career includes over two decades as an architectural and research historian at Cunningham Preservation Services, where more than 50 National Register nominations and 20 historic districts were prepared. Furthermore, Warner held the position of Secondary School Placement Director at The Independent Day School from 1995 to 2013, organizing a well-regarded Secondary School Fair. An international placement consultant at Globalise, Inc. from 2009 to 2013, Warner successfully launched a non-profit organization for placing Turkish students in the U.S. Academic qualifications include a BA in History from the University of Connecticut and studies at Grinnell College.
