Ameer started their career at the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) where they worked on various projects to promote the IT industry in Egypt. Ameer then joined Endeavor, a global non-profit organization that supports high-impact entrepreneurs. At Endeavor, Ameer worked with entrepreneurs in Egypt and helped them scale their businesses.
In 2009, Ameer co-founded BasharJobs, a job search website for the Egyptian market. Ameer served as the Product Manager and CTO, and was responsible for the development of the website. In 2012, they co-founded BasharSoft, a software development company.
In 2014, Ameer joined 500 Startups as the Network Founder for Batch #8. Ameer was the CEO of WUZZUF, Egypt's first startup backed by 500 Startups. During their time at 500 Startups, Ameer helped mentor other startups and provided them with guidance and support.
Ameer is an active member of the startup community in Egypt and has been instrumental in promoting entrepreneurship in the country. Ameer is a strong advocate for the power of technology to create positive change in society.
Ameer Sherif has a BSc in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from Cairo University, an MSc in Computer Engineering from Cairo University, and a certification from the Egyptian Institute of Directors in Certified Board Director - IFC Corporate Governance. Ameer also completed the Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (MIT REAP) Cohort 8 as part of Team Egypt. Ameer's field of study was Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century at Harvard Kennedy School. Additionally, they have completed executive education programs at Stanford University, INSEAD, and Harvard Business School in the fields of Growth and Innovation Program - Endeavor, Leadership at Scale Program - Endeavor, and Scaling Entrepreneurial Ventures - Endeavor, respectively.
