FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered
Lita Poehlman has been actively involved in supporting individuals and families affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer since 2013, serving as a volunteer with FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered), a national non-profit organization dedicated to this cause. In addition, Lita co-administrates the BRCA Sisterhood on Facebook, a private support group for women with BRCA gene mutations and other hereditary factors increasing cancer risks, starting this role in November 2009. Lita graduated from South Broward High School with a high school diploma in 1958.

FORCE Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the millions of individuals and families facing hereditary breast, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, colorectal and endometrial cancers. Our community includes people with a BRCA, ATM, PALB2, CHEK2, PTEN or other inherited gene mutation and those diagnosed with Lynch syndrome. We accomplish this through our education, support, advocacy and research efforts. We are dedicated to providing up-to-date, expert-reviewed information and resources that help people make informed medical decisions. Our strong, supportive community of peers and professionals ensures no one must face hereditary cancer alone.
