David Woodward

David Woodward is the founder and CEO of Forefront Education. David has been working in education for over 20 years, starting as a 5th grade teacher. David then became an Elementary Mathematics Specialist with the Boulder Valley School District. In this role, they designed and implemented Math Screeners K-5, led development of common assessment systems for K-5 mathematics, served as a data coach and instructional coach, and led professional learning experiences. David also became an Add+Vantage Math Trainer and Math Recovery Specialist. In 2015, they were appointed by the State of Colorado to serve on the PARCC Item Review Committee. In 2020, they left their role with the school district to start Forefront Education.

David Woodward's educational career began at Manual High School. David then went on to earn their BA in German Studies from Lewis & Clark College. After working for a time, they decided to return to school to earn their MA in Social, Multicultural, Bilingual Foundations of Education from the University of Colorado Boulder. In addition to their degrees, David Woodward has also earned certification from the US Math Recovery Council in Add+Vantage Math Champion and from Thinking Collaborative in Cognitive Coaching.
