Taehwa Hong

Eurasia Program Fellow at Foreign Policy Research Institute

Taehwa Hong is a PhD student in Politics with a subfield focus on International Relations at Princeton University, beginning in August 2024. Currently serving as an Eurasia Program Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, Taehwa is involved in a project examining the Russia sanctions regime. Concurrently, Taehwa is an opinion writer for 중앙일보 JoongAng Ilbo and has previously contributed as a columnist for The Dong-A Ilbo. Additional experience includes internships as an Economic Security Specialist Intern at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and as an Asia Program Intern at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. Taehwa has also held research assistant positions at various institutions, including Stanford University's Hoover Institution, focusing on technology, economics, and governance. Taehwa served in the Republic of Korea Air Force as an English translator. Educational qualifications include a BA with Distinction from Stanford University, an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, and participation in the Yale Young Global Scholars program.
