Ian Gallin has extensive experience in executive roles within various government organizations. Ian served as the Chief Executive Officer of West Suffolk Council since April 2019. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Executive of Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council from April 2012 to March 2019. Before that, they were the Assistant Chief Executive of Plymouth City Council from September 2009 to February 2012. Ian also held multiple roles at West Wiltshire District Council, including Acting Chief Executive from February 2008 to March 2009, Corporate Director from May 2004 to February 2008, and Head of Strategy from January 2001 to May 2004. Ian'sexperience spans over 20 years in public sector leadership positions.

Ian Gallin earned their MSc in Policy Studies from the University of Bristol, attending from 1995 to 1997. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in Economic Development and Planning at Coventry University, where they studied from 1989 to 1993.
