Katie Schweiger

Katie Schweiger serves as the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and Manager of Visitor Engagement Services at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County since February 2021. In this role, Katie oversees strategic planning, program development, budgeting, and staffing for the Visitor Engagement Services Department, ensuring high-quality visitor experiences. Previously, Katie held various positions at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago from March 2013 to June 2020, including Senior Manager of Specialized Experiences, where contributions significantly impacted employee engagement and guest experiences. Prior experience includes serving as Assistant General Manager at the Apollo Theater Chicago and working as a freelance Scenic Designer, emphasizing collaboration and problem-solving in the arts community. Katie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Scenic Design from DePaul University between 2003 and 2007.
