Gareth Wyn Davies

Gareth Wyn Davies has worked in a variety of roles in the field of education and environmentalism. Gareth began their career as a Project Coordinator for Tanzed, a program that helped adults with learning disabilities. Gareth then became a Project Developer for the Slate Valley Skills Initiative, which helped to connect people with jobs in the slate quarrying industry. After that, they became the Projects Manager for Wild Resources Limited, a company that worked to promote sustainable development.

In 2003, Davies began working for the Menai Bridge Community Heritage Trust as their Project Manager. Gareth oversaw the development of the Trust and helped to secure funding for their projects. In 2005, they left the Menai Bridge Community Heritage Trust to become the Rhyl Athy European Interregional 111a Project Coordinator for Denbighshire County Council. This project was designed to help improve communication and cooperation between different regions in Europe.

In 2006, Davies began working for Sefton MBC as their Merseyside BioBank Manager. In this role, they were responsible for managing the Sefton BioBank, a repository for biological samples that could be used for research purposes. Gareth held this position until 2010, when they left to become the CEO of the Forest School Association.

Davies has been instrumental in the development of the Forest School Association, helping it to become the professional body for forest School in the UK. Gareth has also worked on developing other forest School programs and has been a key proponent of environmental education.

Gareth Wyn Davies has an MBA in Management and Strategy from The Open University, an M.Sc. in Rural Resource Managerment/Overseas Rural Development from Bangor University, a PGCE in Secondary School Science Education from Bangor University, and a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences and Marine Biology from the University of Plymouth.
