Michael D. Nanzer

Michael D. Nanzer, DPT, MBA, FACHE has a diverse and extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Michael D. currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Forest View Hospital and is a Member of the Board of Directors at the Visiting Nurse Association and Blue Water Hospice. In 2022, they founded N1 Consulting, LLC, where they work as a Founder/Consultant, providing business and management consulting services. Previously, Michael held the position of President & CEO at Scheurer Health, a leading health system in Michigan. Michael D. has also served as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Operations at Rainbow Rehabilitation Centers, where they oversaw various operations and led performance improvement initiatives. Michael has additional experience as a Site Surveyor at The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF), and as an Administrative Director and Rehabilitation Manager at Detroit Medical Center. Michael D. began their career as a Clinical Director at Physiotherapy Associates and later became the Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Supervisor at McLaren Greater Lansing. With their extensive experience and leadership roles, Michael D. Nanzer has demonstrated expertise in healthcare operations, strategic planning, and performance improvement.

Michael D. Nanzer, DPT, MBA, FACHE has an extensive education history. Michael D. obtained a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Michigan in 2003, preceded by a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the same university in 2001. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan State University in 2000.

In terms of business education, Michael completed a Master of Business Administration degree from Wayne State University - Mike Ilitch School of Business in 2007. Michael D. further enhanced their management skills with a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Management from Harvard University between 2016 and 2018.

In addition to their education, Michael holds several certifications relevant to their field. Michael D. is a Certified Specialist in Physician Practice Management, a HFMA's Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), and a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), all obtained from the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Furthermore, they are a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Michael also holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and as a Licensed Physical Therapist in both Florida and Michigan. Michael D. has also achieved proficiency in Six Sigma with a Yellow Belt certification from St John Learning Institute & Mountain Home and has obtained a Theory of Constraints - Jonah Certification from Wayne State University.
