Hazel Stone Frsa

Hazel Stone FRSA is a highly experienced professional in the field of contemporary art, currently serving as the National Curator of Contemporary Art for Forestry England since October 2023 and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Chester since March 2021. Previously, Hazel held the position of Arts Development Manager for the North England District at the Forestry Commission from November 2016 to October 2023 and served as Associate Curator at MEADOW ARTS, where contributions included co-curating the Synthetic Landscapes exhibition. Earlier experience includes a tenure as Curator and Sessional Academic at Sidney Cooper Gallery, as well as an Associate Lecturer role at Chelsea School of Art, focusing on professional development courses related to exhibition design. Hazel's leadership skills were demonstrated as Director of Curious Planet CIC. Educational qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the Kent Institute of Art and Design, a Masters in Fine Art from Canterbury Christ Church University, and further research fellowships, culminating in significant contributions to both academic and artistic communities.
