Don Belcher

Associate Director Plasmid Process Development at Forge Biologics

Don Belcher currently serves as Associate Director of Plasmid Process Development and has held positions as Senior Scientist and Scientist in Downstream Process Development at Forge Biologics since August 2021. Prior to this role, Don contributed as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Pittsburgh, specializing in microfluidic device development for 3D cell cultures related to breast cancer. Don's earlier experience includes a postdoctoral researcher and graduate research fellow position at The Ohio State University, where research focused on hemoglobin-based oxygen carriers and high-performance computing simulations. In the initial stage of an academic career, Don worked as an undergraduate research assistant at Oklahoma State University, investigating soil-transmitted helminths. Don earned a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from The Ohio State University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
