Charles Smead

Charles Smead is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in marketplace management and private securities. Currently, Charles serves as the Managing Director and Co-Head of Marketplace at Forge since August 2021. Previously, Charles held various leadership roles at SharesPost, which was acquired by Forge Global, including Senior Director and Head of Marketplace. Charles' earlier experiences include positions at Macquarie Group and BMO Capital Markets, where responsibilities ranged from equity research to foreign exchange sales. Charles also gained foundational skills through internships at HSBC and The International Investment Group. Educational credentials include a degree from the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business and a study abroad program at Peking University focused on Mandarin.
