Sekhar Sarukkai

Sekhar Sarukkai is a distinguished faculty member at the University of California, Berkeley, contributing as a Capstone Lecturer in the graduate Cybersecurity program and serving on the External Advisory Committee for the Center for Long Term Cybersecurity. With a robust career in technology and entrepreneurship, Sekhar currently holds positions as an Operating Executive at Symphony Technology Group and an angel investor and advisor at SKR Angels. Previous experience includes serving as Vice President and Fellow at McAfee, founder and Chief Scientist at Skyhigh Networks, and co-founder of Micrograam, focusing on peer-to-peer micro-financing in rural India. Additional roles include senior engineering positions at Cisco Systems, founder of Securent, and CTO of Confluent Software, along with impactful research at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. Sekhar holds both a Master's and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Indiana University Bloomington.
