Sounil Yu

Sounil Yu serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Knostic since October 2023 and has been involved in various capacities in the cybersecurity field. Yu is the author of a book on the Cyber Defense Matrix and continues to advise on its implementation while acting as a faculty member at IANS and a fellow at the National Security Institute at George Mason University. As a Venture Advisor and CISO-in-Residence at YL Ventures, Yu supports cybersecurity-focused startups. Yu also invests in multiple companies including Valence Security, Sublime Security, and GreyNoise Intelligence, and serves as an advisor for RealCISO.io. Academic credentials include a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Economics from Duke University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
