Mark Ames, AAiP, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Forging Industry Association. They previously served as Chief Advocacy Officer at the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) from 2024 to 2025, where they led all federal and state lobbying and grew the government relations program. In 2025, they served as Vice President of Government Relations at SafeTraces, Inc., focusing on developing the company’s first-ever set of public policy priorities and creating engagement strategies with Congress, federal agencies, and the White House. Ames earned a Master of Arts in Political Science - Applied Politics (2005–2006) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (2003–2005) from American University, and studied Liberal Arts and Sciences at Broome Community College (2001–2003). Their career includes leadership roles at NASSP and ASHRAE, and they authored The 30-Minute Leader: Your Guide to Influence, Power, and Transformation.
