Pooja P. began their career in 2016 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan, where they published a lead author paper in Acta Neuropathologica and served as a reviewer for the Journal of Neurooncology and International Journal for Molecular Science. In 2017, they became a Volunteer Project Consultant at miLEAD Consulting and a Volunteer at Seeding Labs in 2018. In 2019, they began working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Weill Cornell Medicine, studying the biology of brain tumors using a novel organoid model system to identify tumor astrocyte interactions and novel therapeutic strategies. Additionally, they became a Contributing Writer for The Print, India. In 2021, they began working as a Scientist, Cell Line Development at Fork & Good, Inc.

Pooja P. began their educational journey in 2005 when they earned their Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, General from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Pooja then went on to obtain their Masters in Microbiology, General from the same university in 2007. In 2009, Pooja P. earned their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Life science- Cancer biology from the Advanced Center for Treatment Research and Education in Cancer, Tata Memorial Centre.
