Luis Ruiz

Luis Ruiz is a Manager of Improved Forest Management at FORLIANCE, overseeing the development of nature-based solutions projects and enhancing carbon quantification processes. With a strong background in environmental consulting, Ruiz has previous experience as a consultant for greenhouse gas inventories in the AFOLU sector and served as Project Leader of Land-use Planning for Jalisco's Ministry of Environment. Ruiz's expertise includes managing international initiatives related to REDD+ policy implementation and designing low-carbon rural development projects. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Tropical Forestry from Technische Universität Dresden and a degree in Environmental Engineering from ITESO Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara.
