Katy Burnett

Katy joined Forma as vice president, finance in May 2022. Katy has more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting and controllership roles in the healthcare industry. Most recently, Katy was VP, corporate controller at Akebia Therapeutics, where she oversaw all aspects of Akebia’s financial accounting and reporting processes and was responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial results, while ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements and preparing for launch readiness. Prior to Akebia, Katy was the global controller at bluebird bio. Katy brings experience in implementing process improvements and optimizing business processes across the company to ensure scalability, efficiency and launch readiness. Prior to bluebird bio, Katy spent close to 20 years in controllership and finance roles of increasing responsibility at various global GE businesses, most recently as controller at GE Life Sciences in Marlborough, MA. Katy has a passion for developing others and partnering with, and supporting, cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes for patients and customers. Katy earned her Honors Bachelor of Art degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, and her MBA with a focus in accounting from Marquette University in Wisconsin.
