Ken Somberg

Ken Somberg serves as a Senior Advisor at Formation Bio, focusing on the challenges of drug development in an evolving technological landscape. Currently, Somberg is also a Member of the Board of Advisors at Thatch and holds board positions at the Coriell Institute for Medical Research and the Israel Biotech Fund. Somberg founded Somberg Consulting LLC, where expert consulting services are offered for healthcare IT analytics and orphan disease clinical development. Previous roles encompass Chief Medical Officer at TrialSpark and Nevakar Inc., as well as a significant tenure as Chief Medical Officer at Covance, Inc., where leadership extended over large teams in clinical research and regulatory affairs. Somberg’s early career involved key positions at Novartis, including Vice President roles across several therapeutic areas, and an academic role at the University of California, San Francisco, specializing in liver transplantation. Somberg holds an MD from Baylor College of Medicine and an MBA from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business.
