Katherine Nie is a Sustaining Mechanical Engineer at Formlabs since January 2022, specializing in resolving high-priority customer issues related to 3D printers through multidisciplinary approaches involving mechanical, electrical, and software tools. Previously, Katherine served as a Student Worker at TechSpark Makerspace at Carnegie Mellon from August 2019 to December 2021, assisting students with machine operations and ensuring safety protocols. Katherine has also gained research experience as a Research Fellow at the National Energy Technology Laboratory, focusing on pressure gain combustion, along with contributions as a Research Assistant at The Leduc Lab, developing mechanical systems for live imaging. Additional roles include Lead Instructor at Empow Studios, teaching STEM concepts, and coaching at BayState Archers Training Center, where valuable customer service skills were cultivated. Katherine holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Robotics at Northeastern University.
