Nausheen Akhter

Nausheen Akhter is an experienced educational consultant and technical writer with a diverse background in education spanning over a decade. Currently employed as a Technical Writer at Formsort since June 2022 and as an Educational Consultant at Precious Hearts since July 2019, Nausheen also operates as a self-employed consultant providing support for homeschooling and non-traditional schooling families. As the founder and teacher at Precious Hearts Islamic Courses for Children since October 2013, Nausheen contributes to curriculum development and instruction. Previous roles include serving as a Special Education Teacher for the NYC Department of Education, with experience in ELA and Math for 7th and 8th graders and a background as a Teaching Fellow in the NYC Teaching Fellows program. Nausheen holds a Master’s Degree in Teacher of Students with Disabilities from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Asian & Middle Eastern Cultures from Barnard College.
