Austin Lee Gonzalez has worked in various roles in the energy industry since 2006. From 2016 to 2021, they were a Wireline Field Engineer at Cinch Energy Services, LLC, where they specialized in a unique service fishing tools in the lateral. From 2021 to 2022, they were a Chemical Process Engineer at Baker Hughes, where they performed tests in a professional lab environment. Currently, they are a Global Research and Development Engineer at Foro Energy, where they are developing high-power laser based downhole tool applications for oil, natural gas, geothermal, and mining industries.

Austin Lee Gonzalez obtained an Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Del Mar College in 2015, after studying there from 2012 to 2015. Austin Lee then attended Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2018. During this time, they also studied Nuclear Engineering at Texas A&M University from 2017 to 2018. In June 2018, they obtained a Texas Board of Professional Engineers (EIT) Certificate from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
