Neal Barnett

Neal Barnett has worked in the IT industry since 1992. Theirfirst job was as IT Director at SSI Investment Management, where they oversaw network infrastructure and developed portfolio management and trading software applications. In 2000, they moved on to 800wine.com as CTO, Sr. Data Engineer, and Project Manager. In 2005, they became CTO, Sr. Project Manager, DBA, and Sr. Database Developer at WorldShipNet, a supply-chain, warehousing, shipping, and logistics company. In 2008, they joined FORT Systems as CIO / IT Director and CIO, DevOps Manager, SQL DBA, and IT Specialist, where they were the IT Director, Sr. Project Manager, and Sr. Database Administrator of a dynamic SaaS provider in the Food & Beverage industry. In 2015, they became self-employed as CIO, SQL and Agile Web Developer, DBA, BI/Data Specialist, and Azure/AWS/GCP Architect.

Neal Barnett holds a BA in Statistics/Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA in Information Technology from the University of San Francisco. Neal also holds several certifications, including a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (obtained in September 2022), a Toptal Professional from Toptal (obtained in May 2019), a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) from Microsoft (obtained in February 2019), and a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) from Dale Carnegie Training (obtained in November 1991).
