Virgil K. Griffin

Middle School Principal

Virgil K. Griffin, Ph.D., currently serves as the Middle School Principal at Fort Wayne Community Schools since June 2022 and is also the Senior Pastor at Redemption Church Fort Wayne since January 2019. Previously, Virgil held the position of Assistant Professor at Trine University in the Franks School of Education from August 2020 to July 2022. Prior roles within Fort Wayne Community Schools include Lead Administrator, Assistant Principal, Administrative Intern, and English Teacher, with a focus on supporting teachers and students and fostering positive relationships. Virgil began the educational career as a Student Teacher at State College Area School District. Academically, Virgil earned a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Indiana State University, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Purdue University Fort Wayne, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Norfolk State University.
