Lauren Tourkow Blair is an experienced music educator and violinist currently serving as the String Orchestra Director at Fort Wayne Community Schools since August 2021 and as a Student Teacher at Purdue University Fort Wayne since August 2020. With a diverse background in teaching and performance, Lauren has held roles such as Substitute Violin Player and Violin Instructor with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, where collaborative efforts led to an after-school strings program for elementary students. Lauren has previously directed orchestras at the Community Arts Academy Summer String Camp and taught as a substitute teacher for various subjects ranging from Orchestra to Band across K-12 at multiple institutions. Additional experience includes coaching violin at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and performing with the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra and Adrian Symphony Orchestra. Lauren holds a certification in Music Education from Purdue University Fort Wayne and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Bowling Green State University.
