Fort Worth Zoo
Kimberly Rainwater is an accomplished veterinarian with extensive experience in zoo medicine and veterinary services. Currently serving as the Director of Veterinary Services at Fort Worth Zoo since January 2016, Kimberly has previously held positions as an Associate Veterinarian at both The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium and Best Friends Animal Hospital, as well as a Zoo Veterinarian at Little Rock Zoo. Beginning career development as a Veterinary Intern at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital, Kimberly has also completed residency programs in zoo medicine and surgery at both the Wildlife Conservation Society and Cornell University. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science and Zoology from Colorado State University. Additional accomplishments include serving as a Veterinary Research Fellow at Stanford University and involvement in veterinary nutrition programs during time at Kansas State University.
