Nathan Barnett

CTO at Fortelinea Software Systems

Nathan Barnett has worked in the software and engineering industry for over 20 years. Nathan began their career in 1999 as an IT Specialist/Engineer at Lucidyne Technologies, Inc. Nathan then moved to Exchangenet as an IT Specialist in 2002. In 2003, they started their own consulting business, Barnett Consulting. In 2006, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University, where they wrote scientific visualization tools in C/C++ and OpenGL. In 2007, they took on a role as a Computational Physicist (Student Intern) at Los Alamos National Labs. In 2008, they became an Engineer/Software Engineer at Numerical Applications, Inc., developing software and engineering solutions for the nuclear industry. In 2010, they took on a Scientist/Software Engineer role at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Finally, in 2012, they became the CTO of Fortelinea Software Systems, where they managed a suite of five client desktop applications, several web interfaces and a myriad of services focusing on Pathology Lab Management workflow.

Nathan Barnett attended Oregon State University from 2004 to 2009, earning a Master of Science (MS) in Nuclear Engineering in 2009. Additionally, they obtained an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the same university in 2007.
